I agree with you regarding dup content. However, I was shown by experts at the SEO conference that the dup content makes a huge difference. I then looked at two stats and I truly believe it HURTS. Check this out... First: We followed the timeline from the drop in our direct sales to the time we launched the Shareasale.com Datafeed program. Within three months from launching the Shareasale.com datafeed, sales dropped and organic search referrals dropped. Coincidence? Maybe. Second, by using tools such as www.copyscape.com I found that my site was flagged with many sites with dup content, mostly Shareasale.com affiliates. I wanted to prove this theory false so I typed several competitors, www.accessorygeeks.com http://www.wirelessemporium.com/ and www.discountcell.com I then tested http://www.newyorkcellphone.com and these guys are saturated with dup content and their ratings SUCK on Alexa.com. Your numbers are impressive. However, I think we can improve them. We are working on unique content for our affiliates. This should help both you and I. In order to pay for a unique feed for our affiliates, we need to get as many of them to remove the current content with hopes our sales will increase again.
